I'm a Hoosier through and through. I went to IU Bloomington for my undergrad. Then I went to Indiana University Dental School for dental school. I graduated college in '03. I graduated dental school in 2007. I did work for a corporate dentistry for quite awhile. We got a lot of continuing education through the company. I've got hundreds of hundreds of hours of all the continuing education that you could probably imagine.
I've got a lot for endodonic specialties. I've got a lot for ortho. Specifically Invisalign. A lot of hours through Ortho Tain, which is another really big thing that we do here at the office. Lots of practice management. A lot of leadership courses that was done through the Bell Institute. Which is Dr. Jared Bell, I believe his name is. He's like one of the top of his field. I did a couple of his courses just to better myself so that I could help my team be better too.
Meet Nicole L. Hurcomb, DDS
Dr. Nicole L. Hurcomb grew up in northwest Indiana and has lived and practiced dentistry in the Michiana area for the majority of her career.
She is the oldest of five children and is a third-generation dentist. Dr. Hurcomb started working in her dad’s office when she was just 13 years old and spent every summer there until she went to dental school. She learned how to run and manage the front office and also how to assist the doctor in caring for patients. This valuable experience helped her grow her love for dentistry.
Dr. Hurcomb graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and then went on to practice with her father for a year before moving to South Bend, IN. Here, she practiced at two locations for seven years before starting her own practice, Tulip Tree Dental Care, in 2014.
Dr. Hurcomb is dedicated to keeping up with the latest advancements in dentistry and has completed several hundred hours of continuing education. She has even completed courses at the prestigious Bell Institute.
Another way Dr. Hurcomb stays ahead of the curve is through membership in several professional organizations, including:
- The American Dental Association
- The Indiana Dental Association
- The North Central Dental Society
- The Academy of General Dentistry
When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hurcomb spends most of her time with her husband, children, other family members, and friends. She enjoys watching college and professional football and sharing recipes. She loves baking so much that she often shares the fruits of her labor. The professional team and happy patients at Tulip Tree Dental Care even make jokes about her second job as a baker!
